Directions
Traveling by Car
Madison is located in south central Wisconsin and is accessible via several major highways. Madison is:
- 1 1/2-hour drive from Milwaukee (via Interstate 94)
- 2 1/2-hour drive from Chicago (via Interstate 90)
- 4 1/2-hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul (via Interstate 94)
- 2-hour drive from Dubuque (via US 151)
Getting to the Pyle Center:
- Take I-90 or US 151 to Hwy 12/18.
- Exit Hwy 12/18 at Park Street (Exit 261 B).
- Proceed north on Park Street about 5 miles to Langdon Street, turn right. (The Pyle Center is right next door to the Campus Information Center (marked on the detail map.)
- The Pyle Center is the third building on the left (north) side of the street.
Parking:
Several parking garages, surface lots, and on-street parking spaces are located within a short walk of the UW-Extension Conference Centers (The Pyle Center and The Lowell Center).
- Two hour parking meters are available on Langdon and Lake Streets adjacent to the Pyle Center, and in the Memorial Union parking lot (See detail map.)
- There is a parking ramp one block from the Pyle Center on Lake Stree (just south of State Street) (See detail map.)
Reserved Parking for The Pyle Center and The Lowell Center
Conference participants attending events at The Pyle Center and The Lowell Center may apply for reserved parking by submitting a Reserved Parking Request Form. Enrollees of programs handled by ECC Registrations Department will receive a request form along with their program confirmation.
Request forms are also available online (pdf), or by calling the Front Desk of The Pyle Center
at (608) 262-1122.
Reserved Parking Request Forms should be completed and returned with payment at least 10 days before the event date. Upon receipt by ECC, a parking permit will be mailed to the enrollee.
Most city and campus lots operate on a first-come, first-served basis, but some have limited visitor permits (see Reserved Parking below).
