Arrival by Air
Madison is served by the Dane County Regional Airport (http://www.msnairport.com). The airport is on Madison's northeast side, a 15-20 minute drive by car to/from downtown Madison and the UW campus.
Airport-Hotel Shuttle Service
Most Madison hotels offer free airport-hotel shuttle service. To request shuttle service in advance, please call the hotel concierge to make arrangements. Upon arrival at the Dane County Airport, proceed to the baggage claim area. Between the luggage conveyor belts you will find a hotel display with a courtesy phone. Pick up the courtesy phone and dial the number indicated for your hotel. The hotel operator will let you know when the shuttle will arrive to pick you up.
If you do not see the hotel that you are staying at listed on the hotel display in the airport baggage claim area, you’ll need to take a taxi to your hotel. Taxis are usually waiting at the Taxi Stand outside the baggage claim area of the Dane County Regional Airport.

Busing to Madison
Flying to Chicago or Milwaukee and need transportation to Madison?
Travelers may also want to consider flying into O’Hare International Airport or Midway Airport in Chicago or General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, then taking a bus to Madison.
Chicago, Illinois, is located about 150 miles southeast of Madison. The Van Galder bus line runs several times daily from both O’Hare and Midway Airports to the Memorial Union on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. The one-way fare is $24-26, and travel time is approximately 3 hours.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is located about 90 miles east of Madison. Driving Directions to Downtown Madison
From the North via Interstate 90/94
(Minneapolis, LaCrosse, Wausau, Stevens Point, Portage): Take I-90/94 to the Highway 151 exit (southwest) going toward the State Capitol. You will exit the highway onto East Washington Avenue, which leads directly to the Capitol Square. State Street is off the northwest corner of the Capitol Square. The University of Wisconsin campus radiates out from the northwest end of State Street.
From the Northeast via Highway 151
(Green Bay, Fox River Valley): Follow Highway 151 toward the State Capitol. You will end up on East Washington Avenue, which leads directly to the Capitol Square. State Street is off the northwest corner of the Capitol Square. The University of Wisconsin campus radiates out from the northwest end of State Street.
From the East via Interstate 94
(Milwaukee): As you approach the city, follow Highway 30 into Madison. Take the "State Capitol" exit off of Highway 30, and you will end up on East Washington Avenue, which leads directly to the Capitol Square. State Street is off the northwest corner of the Capitol Square. The University of Wisconsin campus radiates out from the northwest end of State Street.
From the Southeast via Interstate 90
(Chicago, Beloit, Janesville): Take the Hwy 12&18 (Beltline) exit to Madison. If you are going to the Monona Terrace, exit at John Nolen Drive, and follow the signs to Monona Terrace (located on John Nolan Drive). If you are going to UW-Madison, The Pyle Center, or The Lowell Center, exit at Park Street and head north. Continue on Park Street (thru intersections with Regent Street, Johnson Street, and University Avenue). One block north of University Avenue, turn right (east) onto Langdon Street. The Pyle Center is one block east on the north side of the street. The Lowell Center is two blocks east, on the north side of the street.
From the Southwest via Highways 18 & 151
(Dubuque, Platteville, Dodgeville): Take the appropriate exit to Highway 151 going north toward the State Capitol. In Madison, Highway 151 will become South Park Street. Follow Park Street to its conclusion to reach the UW-Madison, the Pyle Center or The Lowell Center (see more specific directions above). Or, from Park, take a right onto Johnson Street to reach the State Street/Capitol Square area.
