Distance Education & Digital Media
In The Pyle Center, advanced distance education technologies are used to connect people in the room, across the campus, or around the world. Services, provided by Instructional Communications Systems (ICS) include:
- audioconferencing
- videoconferencing
- webconferencing
- webcasting and audio/visual streaming
- instructional design and training
- digital media services (such as CD and DVD duplication, and editing and studio recording)
- web site design and development
- instructional design and training
ICS advises and guides planners, presenters, and participants in the use of all instructional tools. In addition, all meeting spaces in The Pyle Center are equipped with Help Desk phones which are answered by in-house staff able to provide immediate assistance. Because distance education requires connections to remote sites, the ICS Operations Center staff also provides support and consultation services to locations worldwide. For guidance and instruction on the uses of interactive technology in teaching and learning, we encourage you to collaborate with the ICS Instructional Design and Training Team members.
If you are planning distance education programming that requires no registrations services, conference center space, catering, or lodging, you may contact Instructional Communications Systems, or Manager, Programming and Marketing Services, at 608-262-3772. Consult the ICS Digital Media Production staff for your digital technology needs, including streaming services, CD duplication, and studio recordings.
Otherwise, please contact the ECC Scheduling Department. An event planner will determine whether it is necessary to refer you to additional ICS staff when selecting the appropriate technology to match your needs and to determine costs.
